How I would bring the X-Men into the MCU

Let me start by saying I am in no way shape or form the authority on the X-Men or a screenwriter. This idea is from a long-time fan who has read the comics from the first and second series (Uncanny and the adjectiveless X-Men). This is only the story I would like to see as a character-driven series, not a movie. Ironically, I've left out most of the character development in the interest of brevity but left space for a lot of opportunity.
Cast:
Cyclops
Wolverine
Jean Grey
Colossus
Nightcrawler
Storm
Banchee
Episode 1 is told mostly from Cyclops' point of view. It takes place in the 70s
The X-Men are fighting their way out of an undisclosed base. Cyclops is distraught, blasting sentinels. He's going in the wrong direction. Jean is pleading with him mentally to come back. Sentinals overcome him and the others come to his rescue. Banshee keeps calling out: "He's dead."
Nightcrawler finally grabs him and teleports him near the waiting Blackbird. Wolverine is the last to emerge from the frey they just came from. They escape narrowly. Cyclops berates his team for stopping him as more sentinels power up, he sees the look on his teammates' faces and they leave, flying the Blackbird out of the satellite housing the secret sentinal base.
Once they're in the clear there's an argument and we find out one of their teammates died in the base. Cyclops blames himself as the leader. Banchee tries to reason with him, but Cyclops won't hear it. Instead, Cyclops tries to formulate another plan to return to the base until Banshee yells (not using his power) about Thunderbird being a hothead, just like Sunfire was. Cyclops yells: "Sunfire isn't dead, Proudstar is!" The base explodes behind them and everyone quiets. Cyclops, suffering from PTSD from the past sinks into his thoughts. Jean soothes him mentally.
Dialogue between Jean and Cyclops about how Cyclops shouldn't be alive right now, and Jean says neither should she, but she won't let that stop her from living.
Credits roll: A montage of Xavier recruiting the new X-Men (Storm, Nightcrawler, Banshee, Wolverine, Thunderbird, Colossus, and Sunfire).
Two months ago:
Cyclops runs into the mansion in tattered clothes, and collapses in front of Xavier, talking gibberish.
He wakes up in a bed in the mansion and heads downstairs to find the new X-Men in their uniforms. Xavier explains he recruited this team to get the old team back (from Krakoa). There's a lot of conversation about Cylops not feeling he's fit to lead. Xavier disagrees but thinks his confidence might be shaken, so he tells Cyclops he's recruited an old friend to help carry the burden of leadership should he need it (Banshee).
Cyclops meets the team and there's character development, showcasing their different personalities. Storm is regal, but kind. Nightcrawler is jovial and not as serious as the others. Thunderbird is cocky and arrogant. Sunfire is also, cocky, and there reluctantly. Colossus is powerful but innocent. Wolverine is reserved. Banshee and Xavier speak like old friends. This development is most of the episode.
Cyclops Banshee and Xavier watch the new X-Men train. Zoom in on Cyclops who is a mess of anxiety, but hides it well.
Zoom out and Cyclops is back in the cockpit of the Blackbird, wondering why he can't remember anything after meeting the new X-Men. Jean tells him certain measures were taken to keep his confidence up and Cyclops knows Xavier put mental blocks in his head to help his PTSD, but he doesn't like it.
There's no time to dwell as the ship begins to shake, Banshee tells them they've hit some sort of radiation barrier near Earth. Jean nominates herself to land the blackbird since she can create a shield around her body.
No one likes the idea, especially Cyclops, but when she convinces him it has to be her, he relents and tells everyone to get into the back where it's shielded by lead.
Jean flies alone, growing weaker and maybe even deteriorating. Images of people she loved in life flash across the screen (original X-Men, her family, Xavier, and finally Cyclops) She tells Cyclops how beautiful it is and they crash.
Everyone comes up for air from the water in Jamacia Bay, except Jean. Cyclops is inconsolable as he dives repeatedly to find her. She's lost another death.
End of episode 1
